Description: Cookbook showcases favorite and treasured recipes from Lisa and five generations of her family members. ~ Message From The Author ~ I started cooking at age 11, and helping my Mom, Beverley, and Grandmom, Flora, in the kitchen since I was a little girl. I truly have a strong love for cooking and creating meals, and baking for my family and friends. Just as strong, I have the desire to pass along any knowledge that I have gained throughout the years. I also want to pass down some of my favorite and treasured recipes to my niece, Christina, other family members, friends, fellow home cooks and of course the readers of this cookbook. I personally believe that it’s important for families to come together in the kitchen and have fun! I look at the kitchen as a place to create, experiment, explore, teach, learn, grow, converse, keep to family traditions and make new ones. I also believe it’s never to late to start learning and creating culinary traditions, that will bring along with them cherished memories that will last a lifetime. So in closing, I encourage you to share your favorite treasured recipes with your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. • 1 3/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 tbs. baking powder
• 3/4 cup milk
• 1/3 cup canola oil
• 1 large egg
• 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
• 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries

Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl mix together milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients all at once, stir just until combined. Stir in the blueberries and cranberries. Fill greased or paper lined muffin cups three-fourths full with batter. Sprinkle a little additional sugar on the top of each muffin, bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the muffin comes out clean. Makes 1 dozen muffins.
