Fudge Sheath Cake
By: Ellen Grote - 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 3 or 4 tsp cocco
- 1/2 cut shortening
- 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- FUDGE ICING:
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 stick butter
- 3 Tbs cocco
- 6 Tbs buttermilk
Combine sugar and flour in bowl. Heat butter, cocco, water and shortening to boiling and pour over dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, soda, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into a greased 11 x 15 x 2 pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Fudge Icing: Combine butter, cocco and milk and heat to boiling in saucepan. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar. Mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and nuts then pour over warm cake. |
