Bacon Swiss Bread
By: Beth Cook - 1 loaf (1 lb.) French Bread
- 2/3 c. butter, softened
- 1/3 c. green onions, chopped
- 5 slices Swiss cheese
- 5 strips bacon
Preheat oven to 400. Cut bread into 1-inch thick slices, leaving slices attached at bottom. Combine butter and onions, and spread on both sides of each slice of bread. Cut each cheese slice diagonally into 4 triangles; place between slices of bread. Cut bacon in half width-wise and then lengthwise; drape a piece over each slice. Place loaf on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. 10 servings. A real crowd pleaser. You won't have any leftovers! |
